death sickness sux

So Memorial weekend was supposed to be full of fun and adventure...supposed to means it wasnt.  I got sick starting friday, and by sat evening I was bed ridden until tuesday.  Talk about sad.  Poor Matt had to keep scout entertained and play nurse/cook/housemaid for me :) he did awesome.  He came home from work last night sick though, and stayed home today.  Sorry Honey.  Well in the days of boredom, I did do a few things to try and entertain myself.

This sign is made from left over wood from my bedside table project.
It sits on the molding above the living room/kitchen door.  Cute, I think.
This for the bookshelf by the front door
I made a fabric covered memo board from an old picture frame. and a little wipe board from a small frame and scrapbook paper.  I made 2 of these actually.
here is the redone computer station  Covered a magnetic caddy with paper and modge podge and covered some magazine boxes with cute paper.  I love it.

Matt has been taking way good care of the lawn and flowers.  I will have to put up some pics of our beer hops.  They grow no less than a foot a day.  They are getting to be really pretty and the water lillies are going to be blooming soon.  I love our new place.

Jazz Game and David Archuleta

Last night my brother, Trever called to ask Matt, not me, if he wanted to go to the Jazz playoff game 3 against the LA Lakers tonight. Also, it just so happens, that my favorite Idol contestant ever, David Archuleta is Performing the National Anthem at the game! I'm so jealous, and to Trever, and my Dad--I'm so heated, I might not get over it. Thats all for now...

The Favre-rite Retires!

As you start reading this please take a moment of silence to pay respect to the end of an Prolific Era. Brett Favre, Quarterback for the Green Bay Packers officially announced his retirement on March 4, 2008. As you may or may not know, Matt is the most loyal fan in the history of fans of the Packers, and especially Brett Favre. That was a very sad day in our house!

At his retirement speach he said that after 17 years as the starting quarterback for the Packers "I've given everything I possibly can give to this organization, to the game of football, and I don't think I've got anything left to give."
Even though Matt (and other fans) toyed with the idea of his retirement possibly coming after the end of the 2007 season, it still came as a bad surprise to my honey. He had even made a bet with BFF Derek McClellan (devoted fan of his homestate pride--Seattle Seahawks) that the Packers would go farther in the post 2008 season than the Seahawks, and Matt Hasselbeck. I guess we owe Derek 20$. :(

Some stats from his incredible career:

  • All time leader in touchdowns (442)

  • All time leader in completions (5377)
